weekends are hard!

The holidays are officially upon us and with this brings Holiday Parties! December 1st meant 2 holiday parties in the same evening. It's really hard to behave when everyone around you is encouraging drinking and eating. The peer pressure can be overwhelming. I feel I did very well considering this isn't even a 1 week in process. I went to the first holiday party and did not eat any appetizers until I saw there were setting the food out for dinner. Even the,  I only at 1 piece of bread, some pate and veggies. Dinner, I took a little bit of everything but not enough to cover my plate. I'd say only half my plate had food on it and most of that was veggies of some sort. On top of everything I didn't drink wine which is a VERY big thing for me. The second party was a little easier. I wasn't hungry becaus of the first party so I didn't eat mindlessly. I have a piece my a friends cheese ball and her spinach dip (she's a vegan so i trust her food) and then i drank. I know, I know, I'm not supposed to drink my calories but I did. I have 3 drinks of vodka with diet 7 up and a 1/4 of wine. I danced to burn off some of the calories and stayed on my feet for most of the night. Overall I feel as if I did very well for myself. Sunday was a little more difficult. We were so exhausted from the party that we stayed couchside the ENTIRE day. We bored ate a lot and by 4:30 pm I was pretty upset with myself. I went to the grocery and bought LOTS of healthy foods, so this problem doesn't happen again. Overall I'm happy but I obviously still have a long way to go.
